A warm welcome back to school to staff members, pupils and parents. May 2002 be a peaceful, happy and successful year for all.
A sincere thank you for all gifts, cards and good wishes received at the end of last year. Your thoughtfulness and kindness are greatly appreciated.
Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Cohn on the birth of their beautiful baby daughter, Erin, born on 9 January. We wish them all happiness and God's blessings on their family. |
School times: | Grade 0,1 & 2 – The school day begins at 7:40a.m.EACH DAY and ends at 12:40p.m. |
Grade 3 – 7 – The school day begins at 7:40a.m. EACH DAY and ends at 1:25p.m. |
It is essential that all children are on time. Time lost in the classroom especially at the beginning of the day, is never made up.

Grade 0: | Children remain with Mrs Piketh until 1:25p.m. and are then taken across to the G.1 and 2 play area. |
Grade 1 & 2: | Wait in the play area with one of the teachers until 1:25p.m. when they are joined by the G.3 pupils and the teacher on duty until 2:15p.m. |
Grade 4 & 5: | Stay for homework class with Mrs Macdougall in the G.3 classroom from 1:25p.m. until 1:55p.m. Monday to Thursdays. On Fridays they wait in the grades play area. |
Grade 6 & 7: | Will be in the English classroom with Mrs Montagu on Mondays – the G.7 classroom with Mrs Simpson on Tuesdays and Thursdays – the English classroom with Mrs Wright on Wednesdays. On Fridays all pupils will wait in the grades play area. |
Teachers are on duty until 2:15p.m. Parents are asked to collect children from INSIDE the school grounds and NOT TO HOOT for them. No child will be allowed to wait outside the school grounds. In the interest of safety, the College authorities appeal to all parents NOT to drive into the school grounds when dropping children off before school or picking them up after school. The teacher on duty will send for the children in the respective homework classes.
Mweb 3 3 7 Maths Solutions
After school care service is in operation each afternoon, in the grade 1 & 2 classrooms from 1:30p.m. until 5:30p.m. This service is provided by Goofy Crèche and all enquiries should be directed to Louise at 764-2848. A letter concerning the after-care will be sent out to parents shortly.
Athletics: During the early part of this term our athletes participate in meetings against local primary schools. The first of these meetings will be held on Saturday, 2 February at Constantia Kloof Primary School. Selection trials will take place this week. Practice days and times will be sent once the team is selected.
Chess: Beginners classes (G.0-2) will be held every Tuesday from 1:00p.m. to 1:25p.m. with Mrs Piketh in the G.0 classroom (starting Tuesday, 22 January.)
Senior chess classes (G.3-7) are held every Wednesday from 1:15p.m. until 2:00p.m. with Mrs Malcolm in the G.4 classroom.

Library: Mrs Pipe out librarian will be in the library on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons from 1:30p.m. to 2:30p.m. Pupils are encouraged to use these afternoons as quiet extra reading time or to work on projects.
Computer classes have resumed for all classes. Mrs Mahlangu is the teacher in charge of all Primary school classes. Computer fees are R150.00 per child per year. These can be paid over three terms at R50.00 per term.
